What is galling to me is how Cantor is running as a "fresh face" for the leadership. Of the entire current leadership Cantor was the closest with lobbyist Jack Abramoff. Abramoff owned a deli and NAMED A SANDWICH AFTER CANTOR. For those of you who have forgotten the details, here's what happened with Abramoff.
There are a number of things about Cantor that are not as well known as they should be, and I will be correcting that lack of information over the next few weeks. For example- who is Eric Cantor's top aide? Many people think it is Chief of Staff Steve Stombres, a Fairfax City Councilman. WRONG. The real top aide is a lobbyist- Susan Hircshmann. Susan is the former Chief of Staff to Tom Delay and has been running Cantor's DC organization since it became clear that Stombres was totally out of his league. Many bloggers are expecting Susan to be indicted soon or cut a deal with prosecutors for her role in the Delay and Abramoff scandals. Susan has been bragging for months about Eric moving up to her clients and how she controls him.
Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss.
The Republican Party is really taking the last two elections to heart and examining why they lost as bad as they did, aren't they?
